School Rules:
1. Use a kind voice and kind words.
2. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
3. Be in full uniform.
4. Follow your teacher’s directions.
5. Be prompt and on time for class.
6. Treat others with respect.
7. Treat school property with respect.
8. Electronic devices may only be used during before and after-school-care.
Uniform:
1. Polo style shirt (short or long sleeve).
2. Black, navy, or khaki dress pants (no shorts). Girls may wear skirts (no shorter than 2” above the knee).
3. All pants should be worn with a belt unless they have an elastic waistband with no belt loops.
4. NO SAGGING, BAGGY, OR ATHLETIC PANTS!
5. Any shoes are acceptable except heelies or flip flops.
6. Only sweaters or non-hooded plain (no words or pictures) sweatshirts allowed during school hours.
7. Polo shirts with the Worthmore logo can be purchased at www.queensboro.com. Make sure to use our customer number (652683) to insure the correct logo. These shirts are not mandatory. If you add your e-mail address to the site they will send you notices of sales.
*If you order four or more shirts, the shipping is free. If you do not want to order four or more shirts, and want free shipping, let us know and we can help find someone to combine your order with.
Attendance:
1. School starts at 8:30 a.m. All students are to be in their homeroom at this time.
2. First hour begins at 8:45 a.m. Anyone who has not arrived by this time will be assigned make-up work for the time missed.
3. Any students arriving after 8:45 a.m. must be signed in at the office.
4. If a student is going to be absent or late for any reason, a parent/guardian must notify the office by 8:15 a.m.
5. If the office is not notified, the absence will be unexcused and make-up work will be given.
Lunches:
1. Students must bring their own well balanced lunch.
2. No refined sugar items such as cakes, cookies, candy, pie, etc.
3. No carbonated drinks of any kind. Milk, water, or juice is great.
4. If bringing a lunch that requires heating, it must be in a ready to heat container. Meals that require multiple preparation steps or more than four minutes of heating time will not be allowed.
5. Students must eat all their lunch before being excused for free time.
6. If lunch is forgotten, there will be a choice of peanut butter and jelly sandwich or soup. If this happens more than twice, there will be a fee charged to your account for the cost of food.
End of the day procedures:
1. The day ends at 3:30 p.m. All students must be picked up from their homeroom by their parent/guardian between 3:30 – 3:45 p.m.
2. All students who have not been picked up by 3:45 p.m. will be escorted by their homeroom teacher to the lunchroom where the homeroom teacher will sign them in for after-school-care.
3. All students in after-school-care must sit quietly at a table and begin working on homework. If they do not have homework, they must have something to do quietly at the table. The first 30 minutes of after-school-care is quiet time for everyone.
4. All students must be signed out by a parent/guardian when picked up from after-school-care.
5. After-school-care is $125.00 a month added to monthly tuition or $7.00 per night.
6. After-school-care ends promptly at 6:00 p.m. If a student is picked up after 6:00 p.m., there will be a charge of $1.00 for every minute past 6:00.
IMPORTANT:
· If you do not use after-school-care and you are not going to make it before the 3:45 pick-up time, YOU MUST NOTIFY THE OFFICE.
· If you use after-school-care and you are not going to make it before the 6:00 p.m. pick-up time, YOU MUST NOTIFY THE AFTER-SCHOOL-CARE STAFF.
· If you do not pay the monthly after-school-care fee and your child stays for after-school, your account will be charged accordingly.
Snacks:
1. We have snack-time everyday at 10:30 a.m. Snacks must be kept in the student’s homeroom, not in the refrigerator.
2. Snacks are allowed and recommended for students who stay after school.
*NO REFINED SUGAR ITEMS SUCH AS CAKES, COOKIES, CANDY, PIE, ETC.
**SNACKS MUST ALREADY BE PREPARED. EXAMPLE; IF BRINGING POPCORN, THE POPCORN MUST ALREADY BE POPPED.
